Brooks Brothers
Features
Brooks Brothers is a true American icon. Opening its first store on Cherry Street in New York in 1818, it is the oldest American fashion retailer and has proudly dressed 41 of the total 44 US presidents to date – in classic and careful style.
The menswear label’s Australian flagship at Martin Place carries the tradition on with a timeless, preppy aesthetic. The Brooks Brothers range dresses dapper gentlemen from boardroom to beach; oxford shirts, technical yachting getup, smart-casual and serious power suits.
The flagship is set across two floors of the heritage listed MLC building and features a custom-made navy coloured billiard table, crystal basket chandeliers and fixtures in all-American cherry wood. The store offers a made-to-measure suit service and shoe shining, too. Its Suiting Essentials Program does small customisations with a quick turnaround. True made-to-measure will come from its US factory.
Brooks Brothers’ women’s wear is also in store. In fact, New York-based designer Zac Posen is the creative director of women’s collections.
