Bow + Arrow

Bow + Arrow is the brainchild of former stylist Natasha Ianni and is run with the help of her best friend and fashion photographer, Myles Pritchard. The Manly store is a treasure trove of globally sourced products but also a collaborative space where local artists can create and exhibit their work.

While Ianni was working as a stylist she was troubled that so often the same thing was being sold everywhere. Bow + Arrow actively counteracts conformity with a carefully considered range of clothing, homewares and accessories. “We stock designers who tell a story, who are passionate about what they are doing,” she says. “They are not necessarily huge labels, but ones that deserve attention and recognition.”

One of Ianni’s goals is to connect her customers with far-flung treasures. “It’s like personal international shopping,” she laughs. Expect goods from far-flung places such as Madrid-based leather designer Steve Mono to Australia’s own INBED bedding, to America’s Cynthia Rowley. One label they are particularly proud of is local designer Natalie Marie Jewellery; “It’s special to us because we were the first people to pick it up and now she’s doing really well,” says Ianni.

Ianni often travels overseas to unearth new gems to add to the Bow + Arrow collection. Despite all she sees, she is thrilled with the Manly location. “I’ve always wanted to be here, I really believe in the Manly community and Whistler Street has always reminded me of a back alley in Europe.”
