The Barber Shop Barangaroo
Barber Shop Barangaroo offers haircuts, shaves and cocktails. The shop is by Mikey Enright, who opened York Street's Barber Shop three years ago. But whereas that operation is more a bar with attached barber shop, the Barangaroo version is a barber shop first and foremost. Enright's aim with the shop is to combine his passions and create a space where men could relax – come in before your service, check your emails, have a drink and enjoy the environment.
Six barber-shop chairs take pride of place in a handsome room decorated with sculptures, sporting memorabilia and even an 1820s-era rifle. Enright is a collector, painstakingly assembling everything himself.
In a corner of the shop is possibly the city's smallest small bar. So while getting your haircut or your beard trimmed, you can enjoy a Martini or a G&T. There's also beer in the fridge, and 40 different gins and whiskies kept on the bar's shelves.
The Barber Shop offers a range of men's products, including razors, shaving brushes, beard oils, pomades, leather bags and books. Enright is also preparing to launch his own range of men's care products (scented with gin, no less), starting out with a pomade and a hand soap.
