It’s the morning after the Broadsheet Christmas party and I’m sporting a hangover that’d cause even Bob Hawke to reconsider the booze. But assembling this digital issue has lifted my spirits.

I laughed my way through Callum McDermott’s recap of the year that was, from lung lollies making a comeback to Gina Rhinehart’s beef with Vincent Namatjira; got excited to book a much-needed holiday at pretty much any of this year’s new hotels; and realised some incredible new cookbooks are likely coming my way at Christmas.
