Fix Wine Bar and Restaurant
By day, Fix Wine Bar and Restaurant hosts long lunches and plenty of suits, but don’t let this deter you from visiting this restaurant and wine bar in the evening.
Set away from the bustling traffic of Elizabeth Street, the split-level space is polished with modern European influences, including an impressive wall of wine. It holds more than 200 bottles, many available by the glass or flask, including a wide selection of natural wines sourced from organic vineyards. It's no surprise owner Stuart Knox is a sommelier. Can't settle on a bottle? There's 100 wines by the glass here, so you're bound to find something you like. If you still can't decide, you're welcome to bring your own bottle in from home (there's a $25 corkage fee).
The food is casual but innovative, offering an à la carte option as well as fixed priced menus, which feature five or six dishes to share, chosen by the chef and suitable for larger groups. With the menu constantly changing, diners might enjoy seasonal dishes such as petit gnocchi dressed in a lamb and pesto ragu; or a fillet of blue eye in an aromatic saffron broth of clams and mussels.
