Opened by the Fresh Catering team (MCA’s café, STC’s The Bar at the end of Wharf and the Vaucluse House Tearooms), Cornerstone Bar & Food aims to bring a relaxed and affordable dining experience to the Carriageworks arts precinct.

With chef Leigh Nelson heading up the kitchen, you’ll find a menu touting ham and cheese toasties or fruit salads for breakfast (all day), lunches of soybean burgers, quiche and hand cut chips, and evening share plates of Wagyu and Gruyere sliders, pea and fontina arancini or prosciutto and figs. It all makes for an easy food offering that compliments the versatility of the Carriageworks space.

It’s order-at-the-bar and the plan is to cater to locals and patrons outside of the pre-show clientele, as well as provide for theatre patrons. The brews are kept local with the likes of Young Henry’s beer and coffee by Little Marionette.

Cornerstone aims to connect Sydney’s urban bar culture and the contemporary arts to create a unique and exciting space.
