Features
Cheekyburger is unassuming from the front, with little branding and the old Sloanes Cafe sign still up. Inside is a licensed courtyard with red leather booths, an all-American menu and a well-stocked bar.
Co-owner Sam Marsh developed a love for American food while travelling in the States. He was in New York for about three months researching. And it gave him a good feel for what they do there.
The burgers arrive on red trays, wrapped up fast-food style. Here, it’s not about a single standout ingredient – instead, every element of the burger works together.
The signature Cheeky Cheeseburger is a classic American beef burger – soft and simple with pickles and gooey cheese. Order a double if you’re hungry, but don’t fill up too much. There’s plenty to try on the snack menu, too, such as fries (regular or yam), deep-fried pickles, Buffalo wings or mac‘n’cheese. Other burger options include pulled pork, Philly cheesesteak, mushroom, naked or sloppy joe, any of which can be accompanied by a Millers, Dr Pepper or an Oreo shake.
If you’re more of a morning person, stop by from 11am on the weekend for a boozy brunch. In true American spirit, you’d best order a mimosa, too.
