A Team's Kitchen specialises in two things, all-day Filipino breakfasts and charcoal-fired barbecuing. The breakfasts are a simple affair, almost every dish some combination of garlic rice, egg, pickles and meat. There's tapsilog with cured beef, chorsilog with sweet Filipino sausages, spamsilog with grilled spam and, well, you get picture. For something different ask for the Batangas-style rice porridge (similar to a congee) with pork belly and crackling or taho, a sweet silken tofu and sago desert served in glass with amber-coloured sugar water
As is tradition in the Philippines, the breakfast service is available all day at this no-frills, diner-like Rooty Hill restaurant. Their other speciality, barbecue, is available sometimes - seemingly at random during the week and all throughout the weekend. This is likely because the owners grill the sticky pork neck skewers, pig intestines, marinated cubes of blood and lemongrass-stuffed squids at home and bring them into the restaurant each day.
If you’re curious about the name, it's got nothing to do with the ’80s TV show or Mr T. It's a reference to the family who run the small-restaurant, as every member of the family has a name starting with A. It’s literally the A Team’s Kitchen.
