Features
Adding a touch of retro Caribbean flavour to ‘the Fern’, this little gem is bright, bold and happening. Behind the bright green and red façade, around the corner from Redfern Park, lies a retro Mexicana haven, complete with pink laminate tables, a giant blue parrot mural, cute black and white skirting board art and various bits and bobs from the Caribbean.
The brainchild of three old friends – Selena, Lenna and Age – who came together to create their dream place to “eat, drink and be merry”, Eathouse serves up quality Modern Australian fare with an Americana twist. You’re more likely to find a fancy crab salad than a burger on the diner’s ever-changing menu (which is written up on a chalk board). Breakfast is served until 3pm each day, with coffee from The Golden Cobra and bread from Brickfields Bakery. They also make a nice cocktail and stock a wide variety of wine.
