Features
Cafe Oratnek is a Japanese-inspired fusion cafe by Kenny Takayama, former Head Chef of bills, Darlinghurst, As a younger man he had a dream to open his own culinary venue and share with his customers the life principles he was raised on through his food.
Simplicity, quality and authenticity are the primary principles Cafe Oratnek and Takayama himself have grown from. The boutique menu is small and its changes are dictated by seasonal and accessible produce. The rustic food is mirrored by the minimalist environs of the venue and the fresh and flowery courtyard that is the outside eating area.
The breakfast menu changes often; past highlights have included a Japanese-inspired granola and a handmade tartine dish with caramelised figs, hazelnuts, sumac and labne. Lunch includes the modest offering of a variety of different sandwiches and salads, and gluten and lactose free options are conveniently available.
