Features
This is the second location for Maybe Frank (the original is in Surry Hills). The Randwick version has a greater focus on drinks. It’s also louder. At the centre of the bustling dining room is a long bar manned by Andrea Gualdi, who won a World Class bartending competition.
There are two drinks menus: the first is a permanent list of classic Italian cocktails, such as Negronis, Sbagliatos, spritzes, Shakeratos, and the second is a weekly specials menu of batched cocktails (for example there has been a sweet, tart and punchy pineapple, tequila, jalapeno, Fino and Montegro combo; and a dry Martini-like gin cocktail made with sage, butter and Ambrato).
Emojis are used to help describe the drinks’ nuances and flavours; they describe the intensity of flavour, not how alcoholic they are.
To eat, expect handmade pastas and pizza with a slightly crisper base, less puffy edges and simple toppings. Enjoy outside in the terrace-style backyard.
