The trio behind French wine bar Caravin – Greg Bampton, Phil Stenvall and Emily Nguyen – have converted their Tacos Tacos Tacos site into a little spot for excellent wine and snacks.

Caravin Deux is only 180 metres from its older two-storey sibling, and it leans a bit more casual. The walk-ins-only bar is moodily lit, with a wine fridge and open kitchen wrapping the walls. There are only a few spots to sit inside, with a collection of cherry-red tables jazzed up by Defy Design outside. The hot seat will be at the window, where the table extends inside and out.

Bampton’s wine curation is complemented by cocktails, with Stenvall’s snacks joined by a mix of larger plates if you want to dine longer.
