Features
Public House Petersham used to go by the name of The Newington. Like many pubs that have been made over in the last decade, this one’s been refreshed, but is still comfortably reminiscent of its predecessor.
The menu runs the gamut of crowd-pleasing pub classics and share plates. But if you’re coming here for a feed, there’s a high chance you’ve come for pizza: handmade using 24-hour-fermented dough and cooked in the pub’s custom-built wood-fired oven.
The bar features a rotating list of local craft beers, wine-on-tap producers Sparrow & Vine and a tidy selection of cocktails. Otherwise, the pub’s car park is home to Small Batch microbrewery – head here for weird and wonderful brews you won’t find anywhere else in the inner west.
