Lidz Caps is a hybrid of cafe and retail. Former art director Alan McArthur saw a lack of sporting retail in this part of Sydney. He decided to fill the gap, mixing in his passion for good coffee, conversation and American culture.
A sleek, black wall of 200 caps covers one end of the store. It features brands such as New Era, ’47 Brand and Mitchell & Ness, with some extra merchandise of Stance socks for sale. A La Marzocco espresso machine is at another, manned by baristas crafting Campos coffee for locals and cap aficionados alike.
Food-wise, there are sandwiches, muffins and pastries. But true to US-sporting cuisine there’s an American-style hotdog menu, offering options such as American Chilli, The New Yorker and Coney Island. And let’s not forget the ever-American cronut.
To go with your coffee, Lidz Caps has Live Fox Sports on TV. So come Grand Final time, you know where to go.
