Features
The dance music is pumping, the artwork is eclectic and the energy level is high at Klub Satellite. This inclusive cafe is a stalwart of the Newtown dining scene, maintaining a loyal customer base since opening in 1996.
Owner Ash Houghton is a big believer in “supporting your own”. The interior comes alive with pieces by Inner West artists, such as pop-art murals. There’s a tangle of vibrant green plants hanging from the ceiling.
An all-day grazing menu offers creatively thought-out breakfast and lunch items. There are several “scrams” with ingredients such as caramelised onion, feta and dill – sure to please scrambled-egg lovers.
Those here for lunch can pick from a range of sandwiches and vibrant salads, rounding off with the French Hot Mess toast. Coffee is by Marrickville roasters The Golden Cobra.
