While nearby Collaroy might be awash with cheap soft-tops and flailing limbs, Narrabeen Beach is the seasoned surfer’s break of choice. The two beaches are joined by a three kilometre stretch of golden sand, but Narrabeen is internationally-lauded for its north-end swell. As such, the water can be teeming with surfers during peak times.
If you’re into watersports of the low-impact variety, hire a paddle-board or kayak and make for Narrabeen lagoon. Or for something completely different, there’s a track for bushwalking and off-road cycling.
