Features
The brief at Berta’s? Classic deli sandwiches with little differences designed to rev them up a bit. There are the usual suspects – mortadella, hot salami and pastrami – with meat sourced from LP’s Quality Meats and Whole Beast Butchery. Each gets a facelift with house-made sauces, pickled veg, fresh greens and cheese.
The Morty wedges spotty mortadella, rocket, stracciatella, pickled onions and Berta’s pistachio pesto between slices of Turkish bread. The pastrami is dressed up with horseradish Russian sauce, emmental, pickled cucumber and sauerkraut.
While sandwiches are the focus, there are brekkie options too. A sausage-and-egg muffin heightened with a herby special sauce joins a range of tartines and a spicy hash brown.
