Little Bay Beach has long been hailed as one of Sydney’s “secret” beaches. But that may not be entirely true, given its popularity among locals. And the fact that it has its own post code.

In any case, it's certainly an underrated beach. This South Sydney pearl is well-protected from coastal swells, making it an excellent place to snorkel from one end of the bay to the other. It’s bookended by two rocky outcrops, which are both prime perches for fishing in fine weather. Lifeguards don’t patrol these parts though, so beware: the rocks can be perilous in wild weather.

You can gain access to the bay down a timber staircase, past the Prince Henry Centre and a gorgeous chapel.
