This skinny 16-seat slice of Glebe’s main road is all charm, no fuss, with arching windows, a tight line of pendant lights down the middle and open shelves stacked with wine glasses. The little spot is a one-man kitchen pumping out hearty homestyle Korean dishes.

The menu starts with noodles and leans into heaving bibimbap with generous rice sets. There are broths and soups for sides, as well as plenty of house-made vegan kimchi. Everything is made fresh daily, portions are big and bowls are affordable. It’s a homey, no-frills operation.

Kim’s is the bricks-and-mortar location of what was previously a travelling market stall. And it’s settled into its Glebe home beautifully.
