Kensington Street Social’s feast
Kensington Street Social is putting on a special set menu this Easter, available 11.30am to 3.30pm from Good Friday until Easter Monday. The three-course menu is $80 per person and is designed to share, featuring a traditional lamb roast with salads and roast potatoes, followed by cheese and dessert.

Ormeggio at The Spit
Mosman restaurant Ormeggio at The Spit is hosting a seafood degustation dinner on Good Friday ($145 for six courses). If you can’t make it, the restaurant is also open Easter Saturday and Sunday for lunch and dinner.

Midnight feast at Alpha
Alpha is celebrating Pascha with a traditional Greek Orthodox feast at midnight on Easter Sunday. After the Saturday Anastasi church service, the Greek restaurant will put on a whole, spit-roasted lamb, Makaronopita (truffled mac-and-cheese pie) and Meyeritsa (traditional soup) with lamb shanks. Tickets are $100 per person, with discounts available for kids and the elderly. The dinner begins at 12.30am and finishes at 3am.

Seafood menu at Banksii
The vermouth bar and bistro in Barangaroo is open all weekend to celebrate with a seafood menu. Try the seared-snapper fillet with wild-fennel vinaigrette, fermented chilli and dandelion alongside mussels cooked in white vermouth with green olives and nettle butter.

Easter Saturday lunch at The Grounds of Alexandria
Enjoy a Mediterranean Easter roast this weekend with a leg of lamb, loads of sides and complimentary beer or wine. There are limited tickets still available for groups of four. Prices from $145. Starts at noon.

Chocolate tastings at The Old Clare Hotel
Chocolatier Kakawa is hosting a chocolate workshop on Easter Monday at 1.30pm, for $60 per person. In addition to tastings, learn what it takes to make chocolate, how to properly temper it and make your own Swiss-style truffles.

The Grounds of Alexandria’s giant Easter egg
The Grounds of Alexandria will transform into an Easter Wonderland again this year, unveiling Australia’s largest hollow Easter egg: it’s 2.8-metres tall and weighs 400 kilograms. The massive milk chocolate Humpty Dumpty egg will be on display until 2pm on Easter Sunday, when it will be cracked and consumed. The annual kids Easter egg hunt will also take place, kicking off on Easter Saturday at 8.30am, with the finder of the coveted Golden Egg taking home a prize.

Bluesfest
The Byron Bay festival is coming to Sydney with a number of sideshows. Start the long weekend on Thursday April 13 with Max Jury or Nahko & Medicine for the People, and follow up on Easter Saturday with Andrew Bird. Blues heavyweights Joan Osborne and Corinne Bailey Rae will be performing on Easter Sunday.

Santana at Sydney Olympic Park
Get the long weekend started with legendary guitarist Santana on Thursday April 13, with special guests the Doobie Brothers. Silver allocated seating is mostly sold out, but there are plenty of premium tickets still available.

Luna Park’s rooftop cinema
Mad Max: Fury Road will be screened on Good Friday followed by The Founder on Easter Saturday,. Put on your wireless noise-cancelling headphones and settle in under a blanket with beautiful views over Sydney harbour. Popcorn, Magnums and soft drinks will also be available.
