If you haven’t heard about the Social Dinner Club and you love a good barbecue, maybe now is the time to tune in. Meeting once a month to sample offerings from different restaurants, food trucks and cuisines, The Social Dinner Club hosts dinners and events to show off what different kitchens have on offer, as well as giving them a chance to share their stories.
This time they’re hosting a pop-up to focus on charcoal cooking, pitting the Mexicans against the Turks to see who does it best.
The charcoal standoff is a battle between Mexican food truck Al Carbon and Balmain Turkish restaurant Efendy. Each will cook a three-course meal incorporating ingredients cooked over charcoal, or done completely over the coals, before finishing up with a collaboration.
It’s an interactive food experience, showcasing two different cuisines and bringing food lovers together, with chefs introducing their menus and talking up their creations. It’s the latest opportunity to get to know one of Sydney’s new food trucks as well as sample the fare of popular Efendy. It’s $67 per person and bookings are essential. May the best charcoaler win!
