Silvereye has announced this morning the restaurant will close, with last service on August 27. Chef Sam Miller has decided to move home to the UK to be with his family.

There are no plans for the space in The Old Clare Hotel yet, but it's likely to be snapped up soon, given it's in such good company, with Automata and Kensington Street Social next door. Silvereye offered two tasting menus, one with around 15 courses, and another with around 10. Both were vegetable-heavy and produce-focused. Sommelier James Audas put together one of the best wine lists in Sydney, with a focus on natural and organic wines.
