A quick dinner just got a whole lot tastier in the inner east with Italian and specialty food warehouse Salt Meats Cheese announcing its home-delivery dinner service. Beginning Friday December 12 those not in the mood to cook can now order hot meals, mixed antipasti, cheese platters (with accompaniments) and more to be delivered to their doors, ready to eat, seven nights a week.

The menu covers a tight little list of Uncle Joe’s pizza, meat platters from the SMC range (bresaola, soppressa and prosciutto), salads including caprese (complete with handmade buffalo mozzarella) and a range of arancini among other items. We can see the truffle mac’n’cheese (handmade macaroni with truffle pecorino) becoming a stay-at-home favourite, followed by focaccia alla Nutella … which is exactly what it sounds like; focaccia with choc-hazelnut spread.

You can order online or over the phone and the meal deal made up of two pizze with five cannoli for $25 looks like a good place to start. It certainly makes home delivery a little bit more exciting.
