Parramatta’s dining scene will be shaken up by the arrival of two Rockpool Dining Group venues. Coronation Property announced in June its development 8 Phillip Street will include Rockpool Bar & Grill and Sake.

The two Rockpool Dining Group restaurants will be welcome openings to an area that has been oddly lacking in high-end dining experiences. “No longer do food connoisseurs, or those simply wanting a nice evening out, need to travel lengthy distances to experience a higher standard in dining,” says Aras Labutis, development manager at Coronation.

News of the two restaurants along with the massive development itself (a Woods Bagot design) is further indication Parramatta is quickly becoming one of Sydney’s food and business destinations. “The agreement with Rockpool Dining Group will raise the bar for the greater Western Sydney dining scene, and serves to confirm the importance of Parramatta’s ‘Eat Street’ precinct in the broader local community,” says Labutis.

The two restaurants will be part of Coronation’s lavish skyscraper, and both restaurants will be located at the base of the tower. Labutis says the bottom portion of the development will also feature a QT Hotel.

Joining the Rockpool Dining Group venues will be a 600-person rooftop bar and another bar and grill restaurant run by QT. “The onsite hotel will also feature multiple meeting and event spaces and a ballroom seating 200 people,” Labutis says. There is no set opening date; the development is due to be finished in 2020.
