Restaurant home-delivery service Suppertime is really stepping things up. It already delivers dishes such as Mamak's flaky, hand-stretched roti, La Piadina's beautiful product and, more recently, Pub Life Kitchen's cult burgers to homes so people like us don't have to wait in queues.
From today, Suppertime will deliver Gelato Messina gelato and cakes. Participating stores include Bondi, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, The Star, Fitzroy, Richmond and soon Windsor in Melbourne. Apart from a one-off activation with Uber a while back, this is the first time Messina has ever worked with a home-delivery company, and it's also the first time that Suppertime has ventured into the dessert space.
There are 40 deliverable flavours to choose from, plus a range of gelato cakes. Three scoops is the minimum, but orders can go up to 1.5 litres. Cakes on offer include Dr. Evil's Magic Mushroom – a concoction of dulce de leche, peanut cookies, vanilla cream, chocolate sponge, a red ganache, and white chocolate buttons. Or the Bombe Alaska, with raspberry sorbet and chocolate fondant gelato on a bed of flourless chocolate sponge and finished with Italian meringue.
Gelato Messina is delivering via Suppertime from November 27.
