The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival kicks off in February and Tourism Victoria are luring us Sydneysiders with an exclusive pre-sale code to some of the festival highlights, including the opening night party and classes with some of Melbourne’s greatest chefs.

Festival Opening Party
Kick off the 2015 festivities with music, moonshine and lip-smacking food from the South cooked low and slow.

The rollicking bash features an authentic downhome pit-cooked barbecue by the legendary pit master Rodney Scott from South Carolina’s Scott’s Bar-B-Que in collaboration with one of Melbourne’s top chefs.

Return to Terroir
Inspired by traditional techniques and the natural temperaments of the soil, Return to Terroir is a tasting session of over 40 biodynamic wines with a coalition of wine-makers devoted to coaxing authentic flavours from their unique ‘terroirs’ — the natural factors that create the distinctive tastes of each vineyard.

WHEN: Saturday February 28 & Sunday March 1, 12pm-6pm

Quite the Pickle
Discover the ins and outs of the pickling process with Kong BBQ and Chin Chin head chef Benjamin Cooper. After spending more than a year perfecting Kong’s kimchi recipe, Cooper takes you through the techniques of everyday fermentation and the secrets to fiery Korean fare.
