So far we’ve had brisket and burnt ends at The Barber Shop, two types of ribs at Arcadia Liquors and a whole lot of bourbon, but now’s the time to bring out the big guns, and Smokey O’s will be serving up their specialty pulled pork in various guises. Try a classic pulled pork sandwich with maple bourbon barbeque sauce and a creamy apple slaw, or a plate of pork ‘n’ greens, which will see pieces of tender, slow-cooked pork next to wilted greens and some coriander caramel bacon.
If it’s something different you’re after, don’t try and escape the Bacon Explosion, which is just as delicious as it sounds. It’s made up of hand-ground and spiced pork belly stuffed with coriander and caramel bacon, which is then wrapped in more bacon before being smoked and glazed in maple bourbon barbeque sauce. It’s also served with slaw to lighten things up a little.
Even though we’ve been tempting you with it for weeks, pumpkin pie with bourbon cream is on the menu for our final cookout to end things on a sweet (and boozy) note.
So skip lunch, come on down to Earl’s from 5pm and get ready for a few rounds of Bulleit bourbon cocktails on the house when you buy your dinner.
