Kicking off this Saturday August 25, The Grounds of Alexandria will host The Grounds Markets.
The clever folk at The Grounds tested the waters back on Saturday July 28 and they attracted an overwhelming turn out. More than 2000 people visited to buy a range of locally sourced farmers’ produce. The variety is plentiful, including purple Dutch carrots, leafy greens, artichokes, lemons, oranges, gourmet mushroom varieties, heirloom tomatoes, baked goods and some fantastic Italian-style produce such as handmade mozzarella and cured meats.
Children are far from forgotten at The Grounds with Farmville Petting Zoo, which is set to make a regular appearance. Kids can meet farm animals including the brood of chickens that live onsite in the kitchen garden.
Family fun and even more of a reason to visit Alexandria’s prime coffee post this weekend.
The Grounds Markets will run from 8am through until 4pm on the last Saturday of every month.
