The market’s charter specifies that each farmer or producer must visit at least once a month to meet their customers and tell the stories behind their products, which include truly free-range eggs, handmade goat’s cheese, various citrus, exotic mushrooms, milk, olives and seasonal avocados.
Carriageworks is also destination for breakfast or lunch in its own right. The star attraction? Kylie Kwong’s pork dumplings with chilli jam, dished out by the lady herself. Entrance and exit is through the fragrant Jonima Flowers and Mayfarm Flowers, making this a pleasant Saturday excursion on all counts.
