Oxford Street has enjoyed both a restaurant and bar renaissance in the past year or two. Now, there’s potentially more good news.

The Colombian Hotel, on the corner of Oxford and Crown streets, was sold today. The buyer has not been disclosed. The three-level bar is open until 6am, so it’s unsurprising that director of Manenti Quinlan & Associates, Gerry Quinlan, says the sale is one of the most active he has been involved with.

"We were inundated from the moment we made public the proposed sale of the hotel,” says Quinlan, “with enquiry ranging from well-known national hoteliers and hotel groups to astute local and international property developers."

Fingers crossed the buyer has some good ideas.

Stay tuned for updates.
