At the top of any dessert connoisseur’s list of recommendations you will find Black Star Pastry’s strawberry watermelon cake. The iconic dessert features two layers of almond dacquoise, whipped cream, watermelon, strawberries and red grapes. It is surprisingly light and refreshing.

For two days only, you can experience the same flavours in soft-serve form as part of the Smooth Festival of Chocolate on August 12 and 13. Smooth has teamed up with more than 100 exhibitors for the event, including Black Star, Lindt, Callebaut, Baci Perugina, Gelato Messina, and Piazza D’Oro.

The ice-cream will have the signature rose and pistachio toppings. It will be $7 a cone, or you can try a white-chocolate take on the classic for $10.
