In just one year Zeus in Drummoyne has become a favourite for its authentic Greek street food. And now it has announced its imminent expansion. Zeus will open four stores before the end of 2015 in Dulwich Hill (August), Cronulla (October), Newcastle (November) and Rosebery (December). That’s a whole lot more souvlaki around town.

Costa Anastasiadis (Crust Gourmet Pizza) is one of the founders of Zeus. He and George Kyrprianou (Pony Dining), with the other founding members, have years of combined hospitality experience. He and Kyrprianou also have a Greek background.

“Creating Zeus was always about creating a business that was scalable, and that at the same time maintained its integrity in everything that is core to our values,” says Anastasiadis.

The new stores will retain the same look, feel and food that has made the Drummoyne original so popular, such as classic lamb, pork and haloumi souvlas, Little tweaks to the menu will reflect the local areas. “We will have some fun reinventing old-school favourites,” says Anastasiadis.

The team is also unveiling a fleet of new zero-emissions delivery scooters: Fonzarelli Electric Motos. A fully electric bike designed and made in Australia, it does not require petrol and will be rolled out across all stores for deliveries. It is being touted as an Australian first.
