If you thought celebrated Melbourne based Kiwi chef Ben Shewry was a wholesome, friendly, down-to-earth kind of guy - how very wrong you are.

In a short film by his mates Johnny Abegg and Colin Page, the Attica chef is shown as a furious, pie-hole-stuffing monster riding a divan chair carried by his long-suffering kitchen staff.

Shot in sumptuous black and white in the Ripponlea gardens and set to the music of Thee Oh Sees, the film, which Shewry told Australian Gourmet Traveller is "A pilot for a real-life reality TV series about me and what a great boss I am," was created by his production company Awakau Road Films. But despite its excellent production quality, it does raise some unsettling questions about the effects of our modern celebrity chef culture.

Watch it here and see for yourself.
