The Butler has one of the best views in Sydney, especially as the sun sets. It also has an impressive menu of Iberian-American flavours thanks to head chef Amber Doig. And while it’s hard to replicate the outlook, you can enjoy the restaurant’s contemporary dishes at home – for free.

Before it officially reopens, The Butler is giving away one last at-home degustation dinner for two to a Broadsheet reader. It includes multiple courses, as well as a Zoom call with Doig to take you through the dishes and bottles of wine from The Butler’s drinks list.

Start with a dozen Sydney rock oysters with smoked-tomato sangrita and guacamole, before moving on to Ora king salmon ceviche with ancho chilli and Hiramasa kingfish tostada with peanut salsa macha, edamame and a quinoa crisp.

There’ll be a spread of tacos, including lamb barbacoa and WA lobster with sweetcorn esquites and parmesan cheese. You also get a stack of corn tortillas, five house-made salsas, fresh salad garnishes and red rice with achiote and spicy pickled veg.

End on a sweet note with a sweetcorn flan and citrus-and-ricotta bunuelos (fried dough fritters). The prize also includes a bottle of champagne and a malbec.

This competition is open to Sydney residents only. The total prize pool is valued at $500. Entries close on Wednesday September 29 at 5pm. Winners will be chosen the same day at 5.30pm.
