If you have any intention of finishing this Sunday’s City2Surf, you’ve probably got a sensible Friday and Saturday night planned in the lead up. It’s therefore crucial to have a solid game plan ready for the aftermath of the race to redeem yourself.

Here’s our quick guide to the area’s most popular watering holes.

The Bucket List

The Bucket List’s inaugural Rehydration Party is one of the better-known post-run events.

Right in the thick of the Bondi Pavilion, this venue packs out quickly. Kicking off in the afternoon, the bar will play host to DJ’s Jimmy 2 Sox, The Original Roman, Jonny Pow and Rachael May. Tacos go for $8 and burgers with fries for $20.

Entry is free and kick off is 2.30pm.

Beach Road Hotel

A couple of blocks away from the beach is the Beach Road Hotel. The local’s pub is open as usual for one of its biggest days of the year as it’s where all the action is.

With a huge courtyard, multiple bars and live-music all day, this place offers a chilled out vibe to wind down after the big race.

The Golden Sheaf

There’s the City2Surf, and there’s the City2Sheaf. Among the thirstier of the marathoners, this Eastern Sydney icon is a popular detour.

With a giant leafy beer garden, this is a perfect place to cool off in the greenery.

Hotel Ravesis

This beachfront hotel is ground zero for the Today FM live coverage. Doors open at 11am but get in quick – this is one of the most popular venues on the day.

With DJs and live-music spread across six bars, the pub is offering a limited menu and provides the ultimate vantage point to those less inclined to run themselves
