The sixth annual Taste of Sydney festival will be held in Centennial Park over four days between March 13–16. This year’s round up includes more than 15 respected dining destinations and more than 100 of our best artisan producers. There are some wave-making newcomers in the line-up, including Bloodwood and Chur Burger, while Taste regulars Popolo, 4Fourteen, Four in Hand and Porteño are back for another round.

It’s not all city-centric, with representatives from out of town including Biota Dining (Bowral), Jonah’s (Whale Beach) and Muse Restaurant (Pokolbin) making the journey to Centennial Park this year. Over four days the lunch (noon–4pm) and evening (5.30–10pm, 9.30pm on March 15) sessions offer the chance to pick and choose from more than 60 menu items, plus produce from gourmet exhibitors.

There will of course be plenty going on beyond the restaurant attractions; tasting masterclasses and talks – on topics including food sustainability Ten Mile Tastings, pickling and urban beekeeping – cooking schools and chef demonstrations, as well as live bands, and pop-up attractions.

But let’s face it, we come for the food and the chance to sample a whole lot of Sydney’s dining in one spot. With that opportunity on hand, we’re glad that the worldwide interest in the Taste Festivals (from London to Cape Town, Amsterdam and Dubai) has taken firm root in Sydney. So loosen your belts and round up your appetites.
