Earlier this week, the NSW Government announced it would be giving every adult in the state four $25 vouchers – two to spend on dining out and two to spend on entertainment such as the cinema, theatre or gigs. Now, local hospitality group The Sydney Collective has declared it will double the value of the dining vouchers if you spend them at any of its eight venues.
Once you’ve received your voucher simply take it to one of the group’s venues – Daniel San, The Imperial, The Morrison Bar and Oyster Room, the Republic Hotel and Taylor’s Rooftop, Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, Park House Mona Vale, Northies in Cronulla or Balcony Bar in Byron Bay – and it will match your spend.
“Our industry’s been hit among the hardest in 2020 and we want to support our local communities who have been instrumental in keeping our businesses alive,” Sydney Collective CEO Fraser Short said in a statement. “Plus, we want to see people out having a good time again. We’ve all doubled-down during lockdown and now you can double-up supporting your local.”
A trial of the government’s voucher scheme is set to be rolled out in the CBD in December, with the full program slated to launch in early 2021. The vouchers will be given to six million adults and distributed via the Service NSW app. They’re not to be used for the purchase of alcohol, retail, gambling or cigarettes, can only be redeemed at Covid-safe venues that sign onto the scheme, and can’t be combined to use in one transaction.
