• Tilda’s got a discount for early diners. Book between 4pm and 6pm on weekdays, or 5pm and 6pm on Saturdays, for 46 per cent off the à la carte and drinks menus. Reservations required.
• Redfern’s pizza queen, Regina La Pizzeria, is hosting a one-night-only degustation on March 31. It’s led by Regina’s owner-chef Matteo Ernandes and top pizzaiolo Emanuele Riemma. Book in, stat.
• There’s a new $90 set menu at Letra House. Expect snacky bites like duck liver parfait in a brandy snap basket and croquetas, along with shared plates of its signature soccarat, a scorched rice disc scattered with firefly squid and pipis.

SIGN UP• Golden Hours Barangaroo: for three weeks, from March 20, head to the harbourside locale for two-for-$30 Aperol Spritzes at a bunch of excellent venues – like Belles Hot Chicken, Annamese and Love Fish. The flash new event is presented by the Office of the 24 Hour Economy, Bars of Barangaroo district and Aperol Spritz.
• Stickybeak is back and this year it’s taking over The Goods Line in Ultimo. Tickets are on sale now.
• This week, Cantina OK! is shaking up a spicy watermelon Margarita inspired by Maison Balzac’s pair of chilli goblets.
• Shadow Baking’s left the carpark, moving inside to Marrickville’s Messina HQ. To celebrate, there’s free coffee with all pastry orders for the first 50 customers on Saturday March 22 and Sunday March 23.
• On Sunday March 30, laneway bar Since I Left You is hosting a crafty Slow Sunday session with Handy With Scissors for a crafty afternoon – think watercolour painting, embroidery and tin embossing. Tickets are $20, limited and include a complimentary Margarita. Plus, DJs all arvo.
• Maybe Cocktail Festival returns in April, with 20 bars from all over the world descending on Sydney. Tickets are on sale now.
• Avia’s new collaborative dinner series Re:Purpose kicks off on Sunday April 13 – with guest chefs invited to cook with waste from their own kitchens. The White Horse’s chef Jun Hwang is up first, serving a fish chicharron, savoury madeleines and toffee made from leftover ricotta whey.
• Archie Rose has launched a second batch of its Single Cask Whisky series. It includes a rye-, single- and double-smoked single-malt whisky.
• Head to Catalina for Luxe Hour, a pepped-up pre-dinner stop. Walk-ins are available from 4pm till 7pm for the $80 per person seafood antipasto platter with a matched cocktail, crafted tableside.
• Vege Mamma’s cakes return to Bar Buci, after their debut in January. Line up in the morning or pre-order the $45 mini cakes via Instagram.

• Local Knowledge: Kabul House has been a staple of Afghan cuisine in Sydney for 16 years. Expect plates piled high with charcoaled meats and fluffy just-fired bread, in a dining room that’s a love letter to both Kabul and Sydney.

• This One Thing: Andy Bowdy resurrects his cult dessert in his new sky-high kitchen. His peanut butter, pretzel, chocolate and banana sundae has grown up.
• Last drinks have been called for The Hook in Kings Cross. The neon-lit oyster saloon and piano bar closes this weekend – swing by for your last French 75 or Laphroaig swilled oysters.
