What’s on around town
• Book yourself into Cafe Freda’s on Sunday June 30 for Cooking With Acid a pop-up menu with Chateau Acid. The wine house’s drops will be on pour, and the menu will feature them too. Plus, a hot line-up of tunes.
• Perks & Mini (or PAM) has a knack for curating covetable pieces and designing vibe-heavy capsule collections with other creatives. The latest is with Ace Hotel, and it's a six-piece collection that's available to shop now.
• Capella has kicked off its Chef-in-Residence series with Federico Zanellato, the kitchen talent behind Lode Pies. Until August 8, head in to all-day diner Aperture for a Wagyu pie with mushroom and red wine jus, or a truffle and Comté number topped with potato dauphinoise. (Best enjoyed with the Sandstone lager, the house brew made especially for the hotel by Young Henry’s.)
• Rainbow Studios , Brent Gold and Jade Gillett's creative house in Darlinghurst, is hosting Reverie , an exhibition by artists Tan Arlidge and Joshua Space, at The Vault House in the CBD. Catch the installation of sculptures and mirrors on Thursday June 27 or request a catalogue.
• Luxe out with a free night at the new luxury lodges at Bells at Killcare. Book by June 30 to enjoy three nights for the price of two on stays before August 31.
• Osteria Ilaria : Shell House’s Menzies Bar is hosting the teams from Tipo 00 and Figlia Pizzeria tomorrow night. The Melbourne teams will be dishing out pasta, wine and cocktails – and their signature hospitality. Bookings essential.
• Until July 31, book a table for eight to 14 people at Chez Blue – the charming French spot in Rozelle – to nab a free magnum of Moet & Chandon.
• Yo-Chi is back with Tribute Tuesday, its initiative that sees hard-working members of the community acknowledged each week with free swirls of frozen yoghurt. On June 25, all teachers can head in for a froyo on the house. Keep your eyes on the brand’s feed for who’s up next.
• Winter staycay: check in at Crown Sydney between now and February 28, 2025, with the Table for Two offer to enjoy a night in a Harbour Bridge or Opera king room, $250 dining credit, bottle of bubbles on arrival and buffet brekkie the next day. Prices start at $799 per night.
