The chef and restaurateur, along with partners Trish Richards and David Doyle, is finalising the sale of his life’s work – his string of restaurants in The Rockpool Group. The buyer is Quadrant, which plans to absorb the restaurants into its hospitality business, Urban Purveyor Group (UPG), which also owns Sake, Fratelli Fresh, and The Cut Steakhouse.
Speculation of the sale has been rife in recent weeks, but it’s now clear the deal is imminent.
It’s understood the three Rockpools, two Spice Temples, Rosetta, and chain of Burger Projects are part of the sale. It’s not clear if Perry’s newest fine diner, Eleven Bridge in Sydney, will be included. A sale price close to $100 million has been reported by The Australian.
UPG is expected to make an announcement later this week. Perry has declined to comment on the deal until then. Broadsheet called UPG for comment but did not receive a response in time for publication.
