If you’re planning a trip to Melbourne any time soon, aim for March. The Hotel Lindrum is transforming into the House of Food and Wine Hotel as part of Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. In a city brimming with options, that’s food and accommodation sorted.
The heritage building in the CBD will host a special program of menus and events showcasing Victorian produce.
Stay and play overnight with an in-room menu designed by chefs Matt Stone and Jo Barrett; let the festival concierge set your itinerary; and pop into the Hotel Bar for a drink from renowned Melbourne sommeliers and bartenders.
Sustainable food movement Zero Food Print, developed by food writer and cookbook author Chris Ying, will present a series of events at the hotel featuring Victorian, interstate and international chefs. The movement aims to reduce restaurant carbon footprints through sustainable practices. It’s backed by restaurants across the globe, including Noma and Benu.
Chefs Anthony Myint (The Perennial, San Francisco), Shinobu Namae (L’Effervescence, Tokyo) and Matt Orlando (Amass, Copenhagen) will join Ying for a series of intimate dinners at Hotel Lindrum over the festival’s 10 nights, all celebrating the Zero Food Print ethos.
