LP’s Quality Meats opened in Chippendale in August. It serves some of the best smoked meats and cold cuts this side of the USA. The only problem at this carnivore Mecca is that there is only so much meat you can eat in one sitting, and you might miss out on trying it all. This problem has just been resolved with LP’s new takeaway menu, LP’s Smallgoods and meat trays.

Every Friday all guests dining at LP’s will go in the draw to win a meat tray and the winner will be drawn at 8.30pm. The trays are generously stuffed with different items from the LP’s menu. “It started as a request from Earl’s Juke Joint for a raffle they were doing. We posted it [on Facebook] and had other people start asking, so we decided to keep it going,” says Luke Powell, co-owner and head chef.

The restaurant also has vac-packs of sliced meats available any time, such as maple-cured bacon, smoked salmon, pork-belly ham and blood sausage – perfect supplies to keep in your fridge for Sunday breakfasts at home. The takeaway menu has snacks such as a smoked-salmon Paris-Brest (a bagel-shaped roll made from choux pastry), a smoked-chicken sandwich on a malt bun and a 24-hour-smoked brisket sandwich.
