What’s on around town
• Khamsa Eatery, the beloved Palestinian cafe that closed last year, is returning to Sydney – for one night only. Find Khamsa’s menu at the next Mutual Aid Market, at Addison Road’s Gumbramorra Hall on Saturday April 25.
• Two top Mexican chefs – Lottie’s Joe Valero and Blaq’s Alejandro Huerta – are taking over Bar Demo on Sunday April 26. Expect outstanding snacks, cocktails, large-format wine and a vinyl set by La Foxy Fuzz. From 4pm.
• Winona Wine is hosting its first Rozelle masterclass on Thursday April 30. A $50 ticket gets you six tastings from across southern and central Italy, poured by Vino Mito’s Mattia Dicati, plus snacks. Tickets essential, from 7pm.
• Merrylands daytime eatery Iftar is open for dinner – adding share-style meals to the mix on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
• The Maybe Cocktail Festival is off and running, with the party going till April 19. Expect top bartenders from across the globe, from bars like Handshake Speakeasy in Mexico City, Bar Madonna in Brooklyn and Smoke & Bitters in Sri Lanka.
• If you’re looking for rare European drops, The Wine Bar at The International is the place to be on Wednesday April 22. Bibendum Wine Co’s Simon Higgins will be pouring a collection of special bottles, from Burgundy, Piedmont, Tuscany and beyond. Bookings will receive a glass of wine on the house.
• Hinchcliff House is celebrating its fifth anniversary with free limoncello at Grana. Just dine at the CBD Italian favourite throughout April. Bookings encouraged.
