With a 16-year history in Sydney, Jones the Grocer has closed their original Woollahra store to open the new flagship of their global enterprise in Sydney’s Westfield. Taking over where Becasse left off last year (and with the Becasse bakery still in operation opposite the new Jones site), the new-look space opened quietly in early March.

There’s more of a dining focus at the new store, with only select grocery items and Jones brand products making it onto the slick and stylish shelves in the polished, newly kitted-out space on level 5, with the interior courtesy of Landini Associates.

The move goes hand in hand with the partnership and support of the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy group, seeing the Grocer going from strength to strength both here and overseas.

The new flagship store is designed for casual but polished eats, from coffee and cake to three-course dining, all coming out of an open, bustling kitchen with banks of ovens and teams of kitchen staff on show. The coffee bar sports siphons, while the cheese and charcuterie cabinets are carefully curated to keep lovers of the original Jones cheese room happy. The relaxed cafe fronts a dedicated and elegant dining space that includes a private dining room where cooking demonstrations can be conducted, making it a comprehensive space for the gourmet grocer, marking the next step in the Jones journey.

So why not grab a mushroom cappuccino or a green papaya salad with grilled king prawns before filling a basket with truffle salt and pasta to take home.
