Good Food Month returns to Sydney in October with more than 180 events, talks, chef collaborations and parties to get involved in.
Hyde Park is being transformed into Hyde Park Palms this year, a custom-built food oasis inspired by Palm Springs, California. Designed by Patricia Inatey of interior design company Caroline Beresford, the precinct will become a launching pad for some of Australia’s finest chefs. Here are the events you can’t miss.
Night Noodle Markets
Hyde Park will be taken over by 40 food stalls all representing the flavours of Asian street food. Gelato Messina, House of Crabs, Black Star Pastry, N2 Gelato, Din Thai Fung, Mr Bao and Chur Burger are all on board to contribute signature dishes against the backdrop of DJs and live music. The open-air markets are family friendly and there will be LED dancing dragons weaving among the stalls. The event will only take credit cards to shorten the time spent queuing up.
From October 5–20. Open Monday to Friday from 5pm and weekends from 4pm until late.
An Evening with Marco Pierre White
For a single night, British culinary royalty Marco Pierre White and Neil Perry will collaborate on a three-course dinner hosted by food critic Jill Dupleix. Every dish will be paired with wine and great conversation. While the menu is a surprise, we’ve been told to expect classic dishes from Marco Pierre White with twists from Neil Perry.

The chef behind Adelaide’s famous Africola, Duncan Welgemoed, is hosting an African-inspired food party in Sydney for one night only. It’s the only chance you’ll have to taste the mythical Mpumalanga Fire – a secret hot sauce made by the South Australian chef. He has worked in the kitchens of Heston Blumenthal (Fat Duck Melbourne) and Gordon Ramsay and will come to Hyde Park Palms for one night of contemporary African food, drinks and a Western soundtrack.

Dan Hong & Mitch Orr’s LA v Mexico Party
From the street food of Mexico to LA’s restaurants, Sydney chefs Dan Hong (Mr Wong, Ms. G’s) and Mitch Orr (Acme) invite you on a retrospective journey through their fondest food adventures.
