After five years of excellent late-night parties and gigs, Goodgod Small Club is closing on December 12. As announced in September, owners of the danceteria, Hana Shimada and Jimmy Singline, decided to sell the club and its attached restaurant. But there’s good news. Goodgod Small Club will become Plan B Small Club.

“We're invested in keeping the tradition of Goodgod alive, and maintaining the night club as it is. We want to ensure we suit the same crowd, community and artists which call Goodgod home," says Clark Mak of Esperance Hotels, the new owner.

All events on sale and already announced will continue as planned, including the New Year’s Eve edition of Rhythm of the Night (the regular ’90s night). Smoothing out the handover will be Belly Bao’s steamed buns, which will continue to be served at Plan B.

"Change-wise, we're keeping the club as it is for now, but have plans for some minor refurbishments and renovations. We're also looking to update the drinks menu, hoping to revamp the cocktails," says Mak.

There are eight final nights planned for Goodgod Small Club. These include Friday the Fourth’s Black Vanilla Quarterly and a Red Bull Music Academy night with Golden Rules & Halfway Crooks. Other favourites, such as Goodgod’s highly competitive trivia nights are continuing, with a Star Wars-only night on Wednesday the 9th.

It all wraps up for Goodgod with one final bash on the last night of service. Few details have been announced around GOODGOD & GOODBYE: The Final Dance, but considering it’s the last hoorah, tickets – already on sale – will likely sell out quick.
