When Gingerboy opened a decade ago, hidden down a Melbourne laneway, it was a big deal. Finally, Teage Ezard is bringing his Asian hawker-style street food to Sydney with a pop up at the Star.
The casual restaurant will specialise in Southeast Asian-inspired summer street food. Highlights include cold noodle salads with squid, drunken chicken, sesame, paw paw and bandit dressing; yellow curry of blue eye, lychee and mango; and Wagyu brisket with peanut tamarind caramel and hot- and-sour coconut salad.
There’s virgin green bubble-tea punch, Vietnamese espresso, and “Tropic Thunder” slushies with coconut water, ginger, watermelon, passionfruit and lime.
The pop-up will open on Friday December 16, and will remain open seven days a week for lunch and dinner until the end of March 2017.
