An almost-half-price drinks offer will roll out across 37 of Merivale’s pubs, bars and restaurants for two hours every day in June. The hospitality group is offering guests 49 per cent off all cocktails, spirits, beer, wine and champagne.

Bottoms Up, Sydney will happen between 5pm and 7pm daily and applies to all drinks – including rare whiskies, pitchers of cocktails and bottles of champagne – up to the value of $200. The happy two hours replaces the restaurant and bar group’s March into Merivale, a concept launched 10 years ago to encourage people to get out and enjoy Sydney when the global financial crisis hit.

To make the most of Bottoms Up we recommend Charlie Parker's for a cocktail made with Australian botanicals, the rooftop at the Coogee Pavilion for a pitcher of cocktails to share with friends and the Negroni at Palmer & Co. It's also a great opportunity to splash out on a fancy bottle of a French wine at, say, Felix.

Justin Hemmes, CEO of Merivale, said in an official statement: “This is our small way of saying thank you to Sydney; we want to celebrate it and give our guests even more of a reason to get out, socialise and experience everything the city has to offer.”

And why 49 per cent? It's the maximum amount any business can legally discount alcohol according to NSW state law.

The Merivale offer is on throughout June from 5pm to 7pm every day. Find out where you can get an almost-half-price drink here.
