Tuesday is one of the tough days. You’ve still got most of the work week to go, and unlike Monday you aren’t fresh from a weekend of rest. The George in Waterloo is making it better tonight by giving away free beer from 6pm until it’s all gone.

It’s also kicking off its weekly $3 taco deal, which will continue every Tuesday from 6pm. It applies only to Taco King’s excellent taco al pastor, a freshly house-made corn tortilla filled with pork neck marinated in a house-made adobo sauce, cooked slowly on a spit (the pastor) and shaved to order like a kebab. Its other tacos, including chicken carnitas and Ensenada fish, will remain a very reasonable $6 each.

The George – which is run by the team also behind The Duke in Enmore and includes Toby Wilson (of Ghostboy Cantina), who heads up the kitchen – will also have a slew of other excellent deals during the week.

On Mondays there will be $5 Hawkes beer, $10 Negronis and no corkage on wine from its on-site minimal-intervention DRNKS bottle shop.

On Thursdays from 6pm it’ll be pouring $15 jugs of Young Henrys and $5 orange wines. It’ll also have a raffle – the main prize is 10 tacos. And on Sundays it’ll be amping up your Sunday session with $25 jugs of Aqua Fresca cocktails.

Plus, from Monday to Friday it’ll have a happy hour from 4pm to 6pm, with $5 beers, wines and spirits.
