To celebrate its launch, Taiwanese restaurant SooZee23 is handing out bowls of its signature beef noodle soup today for free, from 11am until 2pm at Westfield Sydney. It’s from the team behind bubble-tea chain Chatime and was inspired by the famous Duan Chun Zhen beef noodle soup restaurant in Taiwan.

The stock is a blend of 23 herbs and spices and takes more than eight hours to make. And these noodles have a backstory.

“The recipes we use and the way we cook our dishes is the same as 70 years ago when our village in Taiwan sold handmade noodles from bicycles,” says managing director Charlley Zhao. “We hope Sydneysiders enjoy the traditional flavours we will be cooking up.”

Free soup will be given away today on level five of Westfield Sydney on the corner of Pitt and Market Streets.
